BDO de minimis aid is one of the important support tools for entrepreneurs in Poland, which makes it possible to receive support within certain limits, without having to notify the European Commission of this aid. The possibility of applying for this aid through the BDO system, i.e. the Database on Products and Packaging and Waste Management, should attract particular attention from entrepreneurs.
What is BDO de minimis aid?
BDO de minimis aid is a special form of support aimed at relieving entrepreneurs of the costs associated with marketing packaged products. Entrepreneurs who meet certain criteria can obtain an exemption from the product fee, which is equivalent to savings in the company budget. A prerequisite for obtaining this aid is the correct submission of documentation through the BDO system. The application for de minimis aid includes a report on waste management and the relevant de minimis aid information form. The value of the aid received corresponds to the amount of the exemption from the product charge, which can significantly reduce a company's operating costs while supporting its sustainable operations. If a company plans to apply for de minimis BDO assistance, a template is available in the Product and Packaging and Waste Management Database.
Who can apply for BDO de minimis aid?
The BDO de minimis aid application may be submitted by entrepreneurs who are obliged to carry out activities related to packaging and packaging waste management and, at the same time, meet certain conditions set out by law. This applies to, among others, entities marketing packaged products, packaging recovery organisations, recyclers of packaging waste, as well as companies involved in the export or intra-Community supply of packaged products. To apply for this aid, entrepreneurs must be registered in the BDO system and comply with the provisions relating to product and recycling charges. In addition, it is a prerequisite that the specified de minimis aid limit has not been exceeded in the current and two previous years, which is confirmed by the relevant statements submitted with the application.
