Is BDO registration after the deadline possible? The purpose of the database on products and packaging and waste management is to monitor and control waste management in Poland. The requirement to register with the BDO concerns many companies and entrepreneurs, and failure to comply with this obligation can lead to serious legal and financial consequences. However, in practice it happens that entrepreneurs miss the registration deadline. What to do in such a situation?
Is BDO registration after the deadline possible?
The application for registration with BDO should be submitted before the start of the activity. However, if the procedures have not been complied with, registration to BDO after the deadline runs the risk of administrative penalties. The Waste Act provides that entrepreneurs who fail to comply with the obligation to register on time may be fined between PLN 5,000 and PLN 1,000,000. The amount of the penalty depends on the severity of the infringement and the scale of the entity's activities. However, registration with BDO after the deadline is still possible and even necessary to avoid possible consequences.
Late registration with BDO after the deadline can also affect the company's day-to-day operations. Failure to register prevents legitimate waste management, which can lead to production processes or service provision coming to a halt. Companies that are not registered with BDO can lose the trust of customers and business partners, which in the long term can damage their reputation in the market.
What documents must be submitted during registration?
Timely registration with BDO is not only an obligation, but also part of building a responsible and professional image in the market. When making an entry, you should prepare, among other things:
- a declaration that the requirements for entry in the BDO Register are met or a declaration that there are no circumstances giving rise to deletion from the register, which confirms the accuracy of the data in the application,
- if the company is subject to the obligation, proof of payment of the registration fee must also be provided,
- companies introducing electrical and electronic equipment must attach a contract with a recovery organisation and, if required, proof of payment of a financial security,
- authorised representatives should present a contract with the equipment manufacturers, and electrical and electronic equipment recovery organisations must provide a certificate of payment of the amount to cover the share capital,
- entities introducing batteries or accumulators should include information demonstrating participation in EMAS,
- companies bringing in vehicles must submit a contract with the entrepreneurs running the disassembly stations.
Each of these documents is essential to the BDO system. Late registration is only possible if appropriate documentation is prepared in advance.
