BDO stands for Database on Products and Packaging and Waste Management, but more important for the entrepreneur than the name itself is that it is a central system in which certain groups of companies are registered, waste is recorded and annual reports are submitted. In practice, BDO does not only apply to large industrial plants. This is precisely why the subject raises so many doubts: many entrepreneurs believe that since they do not carry out \u201etypical waste management\u201d, the system does not apply to them, while the obligation may arise from packaging goods, offering commercials, importing electronics, batteries or ordinary commercial activities. Biznes.gov.pl points out straightforwardly that it is not only the waste managers who are registered in BDO, but also the entities introducing certain products and packaging to the market. For many companies, two practical implications are the most important: firstly, you need to be able to log in correctly and assign an account to an entity, and secondly, you need to know which module to use so as not to confuse records with applications or reporting. The safest approach is simpler than many entrepreneurs think. First, it is necessary to establish whether the company's activities fall within the catalogue of obligations covered by BDO at all. Only then is it worthwhile to move on to registering, logging in and organising work in the system. The biggest mistakes occur when the entrepreneur first starts to work operationally and only after time checks whether he or she had an obligation to register, record or report. This is particularly risky, as waste records are kept electronically in an individual account in BDO and some reports are submitted annually by the statutory deadline. Therefore, a good start with BDO looks like this: analysis of the obligation, correct entry, structured user access and only then the ongoing running of the system. In practice, it is this stage that determines whether BDO will be an orderly process for the company or a source of constant problems.<\/p>\n\n\n
